From a press release today, 23 city police officers were promoted, effective December 21st of last year.
Among the officers promoted was Officer Dave Stokes, who was injured when the target of a drug raid returned fire. He was promoted to Officer First Class.
It was unclear from the press release whether these 23 promotions were making way for 23 new officers.

Somehow I dount that the 23 promotions were making way for 23 new officers. It would not surprise me to see the Mayor cut the funding for the vacant positions in the budget that is currently in the preparation phase. Actions have proven time and time again, that this Administration has no interest in public safety or combatting the issues within the city relating to crime, drugs, and gang activity.
